Daphne Rubin-Vega has acted for film and television, and on stage. She will appear in the forthcoming Warner Bros. film, In the Heights, directed by Jon Chu and based on the Lin-Manuel Miranda Broadway musical.  She just wrapped the Netflix series Social Distance, one of the first projects to get up and running during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rubin-Vega most recently appeared on Katy Keene, a spinoff of The CW’s Riverdale. She previously appeared on the Netflix series Tales of the City. A staple of the New York theater community, Rubin-Vega earned a Tony nomination for her portrayal of Mimi in the original cast of Rent, and another for Anna in the Tropics. She recently starred in Miss You Like Hell at The Public Theater, and in the one-woman show Empanada Loca, which was written for her. Rubin-Vega went on to help adapt the play into the scripted podcast The Horror of Dolores Roach, and is currently developing it into a series for Blumhouse Television.
