Laura Linney is an American actress who works in film, television, and theater. Linney will star in the forthcoming Viggo Mortensen film, Falling. She can now be seen in Netflix’s acclaimed original series, Ozark, for which she received her seventh Emmy Award nomination. She has been nominated three times for an Academy Award, four times for a Tony Award, six times for a SAG award, once for a BAFTA Award, and five times for a Golden Globe. She has won a Screen Actors Guild Award, a National Board of Review Award, two Golden Globes, and four Emmy Awards.

Her film credits include The Dinner, Nocturnal Animals, Sully, Genius, Kinsey, The Savages, The Fifth Estate, Hyde Park on Hudson, The Squid and the Whale, Mystic River, Absolute Power, The Truman Show, Primal Fear, The Mothman Prophecies, Love Actually, The House Of Mirth, and Congo. Linney starred in and executive-produced the award-winning Showtime series, The Big C. She also won multiple awards for her portrayal of Abigail Adams in the HBO miniseries John Adams, directed by Tom Hooper. Linney served as an executive producer and starred in the Netflix remake of Tales of the City.

In June 2018, Linney made her London stage debut in Richard Eyre’s My Name Is Lucy Barton, which was adapted from the Elizabeth Strout novel of the same name. The one-woman show returned to the London stage in 2019, and debuted on Broadway in January 2020, to rave reviews. She has appeared in many Broadway productions, most notably The Little Foxes, Time Stands Still, and Sight Unseen. Linney has also starred opposite Liam Neeson in a staging of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible directed by Richard Eyre, Six Degrees of Separation, Honour, Uncle Vanya, Les liaisons dangereuses, Holiday, and The Seagull.
